Today we are featuring a local mom who started a Facebook Group called Queen Bees.

Introducing Rebecca J.

  • Where do you live?
    • Brook park MN
  • How many children do you have? Ages & Names are optional.
    • 1- 3 year old daughter
  • How old were you when you first became a mom
    • 25 years old
  • What has been the best thing about being a mom?
    • Watching her grow
  • What has been the hardest thing about being a mom? How have you overcome or worked through it?
    • Watching her be sick or get hurt

As parents (especially mothers) we are always looking for community.  As society has changed, things have shifted from in person groups to a more worldly connection online.  Many of us are a part of Facebook and Communities/Groups but it is the quality of the groups that many of us are searching for.

Why did you start Queen Bees?
̈Of course I started it because I was a mod in another mom group they blocked me without even telling me what I did wrong (if I even did anything). So then I made queen bees so mommas had a safe place to vent and talk about anything.  Husbands and boyfriends are great but you can't talk to them about periods, or child birth or postpartum. They try to understand but they can ́t. Also, I'm a stay at home mom so this group gives me an outlet it has helped me a ton ̈

Group Details
Queen bees - 162 members

This is a fun mom group where we can vent and make new friends. Being a mom can be lonely so I want a safe place for mom's to vent and be there for each other

2 Be Kind and Courteous
We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.
3 No Hate Speech or Bullying
Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.
4 No Promotions or Spam
Give more than you take to this group. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant links aren't allowed.

Who is in the group?
The group consists of mostly moms from Minnesota but there a few across the river in Wisconsin.  Most members are between the ages of 18 and 35.
